CONTROLS:
- The slider permits you to open the circles to allow you to measure the length of the circumference.
- The button “Millimeter ruler” allows you to obtain a ruler with divisions in millimeters that can be moved to the desired position.
- The button “Centimeter ruler” allows you to obtain a ruler with divisions in centimeters that can be moved to the desired position.
DESCRIPTION OF THE SIMULATION:
This simulation allows the measurement of the diameters and lengths of the circles of 6 different circles, using a millimeter ruler or a centimeter ruler in order to obtain measurements with different numbers of significant figures. The ratio between the length of the circle and the diameter of each circle gives an approximate value for the number π. Depending on the ruler used, the approximation of the number π will contain a greater or lesser number of significant figures.
